- Get Your Own Title: Lucky lyrics Artist: Britney Spears This is the story about a girl named Lucky. Early morning She wakes up Knock, knock, knock on the door It's time for makeup Perfect smile It's you they're all waiting for Isn't she lovely This Hollywood girl And they say.. She's so Lucky She's a star But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life Then why do these tears come at night? Lost in an image, in a dream But there's no one there to wake her up And the world is spinning and she keeps on winning But tell me, what happens when it stops Baby Isn't she lovely? This Hollywood girl And they say.. She's so lucky She's a star But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart Thinking, if there's nothign missing in my life Then why do these tears come at night? Isn't she lovely? This Hollywood girl She's soo lucky But why does she cry? If there is nothing missing in her life Why do tears come at night? And they say.. She's so lucky, She's a star But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life Then why do these tears come at night? She's so lucky. But she cry cry cries in her lonely heart Thinking, if there's nothing missing in my life Then why do these tears come at night? Lucky is the second single from Pop singer Britney Spears' album Oops!... I Did It Again. It was released during the third quarter of 2000. The song was primarily written and produced by Max Martin and Rami, and is about an actress, who despite being very "lucky" and seemingly having it all - fame, wealth, beauty, is truly lonely on the inside for unknown reasons ("If there's nothing missing in my life, then why do these tears come at night?"). Well, Lucky is luckier than Britney who just had a meltdown ( et tu Britney? ) and couldn't stay put in rehab. Directed by Dave Meyers in Orlando, FL, the music video for Lucky starts out with Britney as a narrator of a play showing the life of a very famous Hollywood actress named Lucky (also played by Spears). The curtains part to reveal a big billboard with Lucky on it. We see Lucky and her mansion as well. As beautiful and rich as she is, we see her about a set as she is acting looking quite distressed. Through this scene, the narrator Spears also sits above in the 'stars', throwing down glittery sparkles. Next, we find Lucky having her make-up put on and then at the Academy Awards accepting her Oscar ("Best actress, and the winner is Lucky!"). Lucky looks very, very happy as she accepts the Oscar and smiles at her fans, but it is not true happiness. As she makes her way away from her screaming fans and back into her limo, she catches a glimpse of the narrator Spears in the crowd, and also becomes distressed again. The video ends with Lucky crying herself to sleep, her make-up already stained. The curtains close, ending the video. Although Britney is a famous blonde, this is the first video in which she actually has the hair color.
