The makers of "Dreamgirls" thought Chicago's Jennifer Hudson was good enough for a leading role. Foreign reporters thought her deserving of a Golden Globe. And next month the movie academy might give her an Oscar.




So why did "American Idol" voters two years ago think she was only worth seventh place, beneath the likes of John Stevens and Diana Churvah-Loo-Something?




Ryan Seacrest ( the closet queen idol ) puts some of the blame on Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. "Viewers were all sort of influenced by what the judges had to say, and sometimes the judges weren't leading us down the path of keeping her on the program," he says. "She's a great example of taking what 'American Idol' gives you and kind of giving it the finger and saying, 'OK, I'll show you.'
"I love the fact that Simon sort of condemned her and now she's achieving great success," the "Idol" host says of the "lovable diva." Yeah, despite the "Gays are Sinners according to the Bible Churvah", I love her, along with the other American Idol Season 3 divas ( Fantasia, LaToya, Jasmine and Camille ). I love my Dream Grrrls.
