Born in South Carolina, Derrick Davenport was raised by his mother as a good southern boy. Derrick took an early interest in fitness and exercise and began training at an early age, and that shows. In the fall of 2004, Derrick met photographers Steve Henry and Tom Watkin. After several shoots with these two photographers, Steve Henry suggested that Derrick should shoot for Playgirl magazine. The editors at Playgirl loved Derrick's look and he was chosen for the May 2005 cover and centerfold of the magazine.
Derrick's Playgirl debut was huge for his career. He was featured in a number of magazines including Gaydar and Genre, working with noted photographers like Henning von Berg and Dianora Niccolini and even topping interactive Top 10 celebrity lists of www.gaywired.com. Then in early 2006, Davenport was named as Playgirl magazine's man of the year. Since then he has focused on filming follow-up videos for Mega Muscle Productions and developing his member site for fans.
In April 2005, Derrick signed with Mega Muscle Productions to produce a series of videos. His first, DERRICK DAVENPORT'S COMPLETE CIRCUIT TRAINING is already being hailed as "one of the most visually stunning workout videos ever created." Well, not as visually stimulating as his video from Otoko Publishing!
