Melanie Marquez-isms

RockYou FXText - Get Your Own

You gotta love Melanie Marquez, either for her achievements in the Beauty Pageant and modelling field or for her crazy yet funny statements. So, here is a list of my favorite Melanie Marquez "quotable" quotes that I would like to share. Before that, let me briefly introduce Melanie to those who are not familiar with this Filipino Gay Icon.

Mimilanie Laurel Marquez (born July 16, 1964) is the Miss International titleholder for the year 1979, representing the Philippines.

She hails from Mabalacat, Pampanga and stands 6'1". She is the daughter of the late director, Artemio Marquez. After winning the beauty crown, she went on to to pursue a career in modelling and show business, where she uses her nickname Melanie as a screen name. She has been active as an actress, TV host, film producer, and most recently, as a celebrity endorser.

In addition to being Ms. International 1979, Melanie was also the Face of the 80s winner in New York in 1985, was first runner-up in the Supermodel competition in 1986, and was the Most Glamorous Woman in Italy, also in 1986. In 2005, she also competed in the Mrs. World pageant.

Melanie also continues to coach girls internationally in pageants, often making appearances at local ones; her most recent noted appearances included the Binibining Pilipinas World of BC 2004 pageant, and the Binibining Pilipinas World of Canada pageant, 2004. She was voted as the Most Beautiful Miss International in 2000.

Boy Abunda: O melanie, paano na ang showbiz career mo ngayong magmo-Mormon ka na?
Melanie: Ah okay lang 'yon Boy, kasi matagal na rin akong SEMI-RETARDED.

At a talk show after her break-up with Derek Dee, Melanie was asked if she had some words for Derek’s mother (whom she partly blamed for the separation). “Oo nga,” said Melanie, “pero i-English-in ko para maintindihan niya.” She looked into the camera and, with the peremptoriness of royalty, said, “And to you, Mrs. Dee, I have two words for you. Ang labo mo!”

Ooops, don’t judge Melanie. As you know, she’s not a book. :) Here's our Beautiful Diva endorsing Lee Kum Kee sauce. May Toyo Ka Ba?
